A multifaceted and talented Italian artist, Fernando Fracassi is celebrated for his virtuosity as a flutist, performing on an exceptionally wide range of instruments, from historical recorders and modern Boehm-system flutes to ethnic, amplified, and electronically enhanced flutes, as well as the piccolo. His artistic practice also encompasses composition, arranging, and a versatile array of instruments and technologies, including wind MIDI controllers, electroacoustic guitar, keyboards, synthesizers, piano, and live electronics.
He is also active as a writer, poet, essayist, playwright, content creator, and narrator. A distinctive dimension of his artistic work is his creation of narrative concerts: solo musical recitals that combine live performance with historical, philosophical, and cultural narration, transforming the concert experience into an interdisciplinary journey through music, ideas, and cultural history.

His academic and artistic research encompasses Cognitive, Behavioural, and Experimental Psychology in relation to music (Imaginal Music), Comparative Arts, and Musicology. His work in Comparative Arts explores the relationships between music and other forms of artistic and intellectual expression, including the visual arts, literature, philosophy, and history. Alongside his artistic and academic activities, he works as a music producer and cultural events organiser.

Since 2023, he has served as Music Consultant and Lecturer at the prestigious King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, where he teaches a wide range of theoretical and performance-based music courses.
